In addition to clinical work, he has contributed to numerous research projects focused on ultrasound detection and staging of gynecologic cancers. Jitka Fučíková, PharmDr., Ph.D., Professor

Jitka Fucikova graduated in Farmacy at Charles University and obtained a PhD degree at the 2nd Medical school, Charles University, Prague. After a PhD and post-doc internships at Ludwig institute of Cancer Research in Melbourne, Australia and Centre de Recherche des Cordeliers, Paris, she came back to Prague and started leading her own team focusing on tumor immunology.

In her scientific work, Jitka provides conceptual contribution to the fields of immunogenic cell death, tumor immunology and immunotherapy. In particular, she provided profound insights into the links between adaptive stress responses in cancer cells and the activation of a clinically relevant tumor-targeting immune response. She is exploring the role of immune cells in tumor progression and her research resulted in creation of innovative immunotherapy approaches under preclinical and clinical development within immune-oncology field in collaboration with SOTIO Biotech.

Jitka Fucikova has published more than 80 scientific articles in internation peer-reviewed journals and 4 international patents. Her research contribution has been recognized by: Neuron award for research in medicine (2020), L´Oreal UNESCO for Women in Science and Czech Brains award (2018), Discovery award (2017) and others. To share her passion of science, she is actively engaged in science communication and teaching students.

Gábor Szabó, M.D., Ph.D.

Gábor Szabó is an advanced gynecologic sonologist and surgeon. He is a senior lecturer and head of the Ultrasound Unit in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Semmelweis University. He completed his PhD in Medicine in 2013. His special interest is ultrasound in gynecologic diseases especially in endometriosis and oncology. He introduced a new field of gynecologic ultrasonography called pelveoneurosonography – examination of the pelvic nerves. Toon Van Gorp, M.D., Ph.D., Professor

Toon Van Gorp, MD, PhD received his medical degree from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven), Belgium in 1999, completed his specialty training as an obstetrician/gynaecologist in 2004, and his subspecialty training in gynaecologic oncology in 2009. The past three decades he has worked in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Belgium. Currently, he is working as a gynaecological oncologist at the University Hospital Leuven/Leuven Cancer Institute in Belgium where he leads the Gynaecological Oncology department. He is the chair of the Belgium and Luxembourg Gynaecological Oncology Group (BGOG) and member of the strategic group of the European Network of Gynaecological Oncological Trial Groups (ENGOT). He is passionate about the treatment of gynaecological tumors and his main focus is translational research, early drug development and clinical trials (phase 1-3) in ovarian, endometrial and cervical cancer.

Vít Weinberger, M.D., Ph.D., Professor

Professor Vít Weinberger studied General Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, from 1996 to 2003. He completed a doctoral program in Gynecology and Obstetrics in 2015.
